The Kua Number 7

I continue my detailed series on the Kua Numbers.
After Kua 1, Kua 2, Kua 3, Kua 4 and Kua 6, here is 7!

Calculating the Kua Number

Here is a reminder to help you determine your Kua or Ming Gua Number.

For men born before 2000: 10 – last 2 digits of the year of birth
For women born before 2000: last 2 digits of the year of birth + 5

For men born after 2000: 9 – last 2 digits of year of birth
For women born after 2000: last 2 digits of the year of birth + 6

I also remind you that feng shui takes into consideration the Chinese solar calendar for which the first day of the year starts on February 3rd, 4th or 5th. So refer to the official calendar if the date of birth falls on these days.

Finally, if the result of your calculation is 5: if you are a man, your Kua is 2, if you are a woman, your Kua is 8.

Characteristics of the Kua 7

The Kua 7 belong to the Dui trigram, the Joyful.
It is a yin-yang-yang trigram
Its element is the Small Metal.
It represents the 3rd daughter.
Its season is autumn.
Its colours are white, grey, golden and silver.

Kua 7 is not malleable as its phase might suggest, it can even be quite rigid. He is rather serene and positive. Loving to communicate, he is a good speaker, at ease in public. Be careful with his speech, which can be as sharp as a knife. He also knows how to argue very well, he is an excellent strategist who knows how to analyse and negotiate. Despite this, he does not like conflict and will always seek cordiality.

The life palace of Kua 7

The 7 corresponds to the West.
This means that people with a Kua number of 7 have their Life Palace in the Western zone of their home (according to the sectorisation done by applying the Bagua on the plan).

Thus, as people of Kua 7 will be more in resonance with the energies of this Western sector, it is interesting for them to observe which room corresponds to this zone and which objects are in it. Depending on the result, this can give information about what the person is experiencing as great happiness or is currently going through as difficulties or challenges. I am from Kua 7 and the West zone is in my garage. At the moment it is very cluttered, which is far from ideal. As a result, I am full of projects, but perhaps too many! I need to tidy up so that I can focus more on the main subjects. The others will come in due course 🙂

We will also use this important information when analysing the flying stars: a Kua 7 will also be more sensitive to the energies of the 7 star and to a Kua 7 house. Favourable directions of Kua 7

The Kua 7 belong to the Western group.
The 4 favourable orientations of Kua 1 are:

Sheng Chi – Prosperity: North West
Yan Nian – Love and Longevity: North East
Tian Yi – Health: South West
Fu Wei – harmony and stability: West

These are the directions to turn to when cooking, working, watching TV, sleeping… It is on this basis that the Feng Shui expert will make recommendations for the placement of the sofa, desks or beds.

By definition, the other 4 directions are unfavourable so it is better to avoid them.

Compatibility of Kua 7 with other Kua

Once again, it is through the relationships between the 5 Chinese elements that we can determine how the Kua 7 interacts with other individuals.

Kua 1 and Kua 7: Kua 7 is a born leader, he likes to give his support, especially to Kua 1 whose element is Water. They are both good partners.
Kua 7 and Kua 2 or 8: Earth produces metal. So they are also particularly compatible. However, metal controls earth and so can sometimes put pressure on some Kua 2 or 8 people.
Kua 7 and Kua 3 or 4: as metal cuts through wood, these people are rarely compatible, so Kua 7s should be especially careful about the tone they use with wood people.
Kua 7 and Kua 6: they share the same metal element so the relationship can be productive but beware, when two blades cross it is a duel!
Kua 7 and Kua 9: fire is known to melt metal so the relationship is generally not compatible.

Knowing your Kua Number allows you to know your favourable orientations but also the location of your Identity Palace: by exploiting these directions and this sector at best, you will benefit from the best energies.
